The body of the vase is decorated in the round with applied bronze reliefs showing birds, flowers and mythical animals. The ‘vase’ sits on a circular tripod shaped ‘stool’ with a lion’s masks on the top of each leg. The stool sits on a further decorated stepped bronze base. Meiji period circa 1900.
